EntrepreNeuron is a unique Board Game that supports anywhere from 1 to 9 Players and is a combination of PVE/PVP (coop-etition) where Players choose a unique Entrepreneur with a unique game ability from 1 of 9 Market Sectors and compete directly and indirectly to pursue Opportunities in the form of poker-sized cards that advertise 3 Target #'s, one Yellow, one Red, and one Green. These Target #'s are tied to 3 core components of a company; a Business Model (yellow), a Marketing Campaign (red), and a Corporate Culture (green).
The game is played simultaneously between Players, using a novel "Action-Token" system where Players declare specific actions using tokens to represent them. If 2 or more Players attempt an Action that conflicts, then select game mechanics are used to resolve the contests or sequence the Actions involved. This allows for fast play and constant action without having to wait for "your turn". It also allows for "wheeling and dealing" among Players to avoid or create conflict as everyone tries to go after what they need to advance in the game.
What makes EntrepreNeuron truly unique however, is the Neuro-chart. A completely new concept for a game apparatus that represents an Entrepreneur's "Brain Chemistry", the Neuro-chart dictates how effective a Player's company is, what Opportunity rewards that Player is eligible for, and what Action Tokens that Player is eligible to use. This is accomplished with 3 distinct "neuro-chemical levels" that represent the Business Model (yellow), the Marketing Campaign (red), and the Corporate Culture (green) and provide specific effects for each Player depending on what their current Neuro-level is in each column of the chart.
In short, the Neuro-chart drives your gameplay and decisions as you sequence the movement of your Neuro-chart levels to chart a course through the game. If you lose Opportunities or incur Setbacks along the way, your Neuro-levels are randomized using special dice called "Neuro-dice" that can throw your Brain Chemistry out of whack and throw a wrench in your business plans.
To progress in the game, each Player must draw cards (called Ideas) from 3 decks and launch the 3 components of their company, with each card listing a specific polyhedral dice type (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12) that is used to roll against the Opportunity Target #'s in the marketplace. Ideas range in level from Small, to Medium, to Large, to Enterprise and you must upgrade your Company Cards as you grow. When you win Opportunities you receive cash Awards and game progression Rewards based on your current Business Level. Each Idea also has a specific ability called "Embellishment" which can be activated when your Neuro-levels are in the right spot to enhance your dice rolls and provide other game benefits. These same Ideas are also used to break ties with other Players competing for the same Opportunities, using them instead from your hand to roll off directly against other Players and applying the same Embellishment benfits on the card, with the winner earning the right to pursue the Opportunity.
As you advance you'll acquire Preferred Stock and a Stock Listing to gain passive Dividend income, establish Joint Ventures with other Players or any remaining "non-player entrepreneurs (NPE's)" not being played by other people, and gain new Action Tokens that expand your operational capacity and abilities.
Eventually you'll become an Enterprise Business, launch a Shell Company, and then test your might against 1 of 9 "Industry Titans"; competing head-to-head to become a Titan yourself and win the game.
EntrepreNeuron leverages transformative game concepts and is one of very few games that can be played solo or with up to 9 people. Fast-paced, competitive, and the right balance between simplicity of play and depth of strategy, this hybrid board-card-dice game is worth keeping on your radar as it develops through 2024.
